Barcelona's defeat to Osasuna last weekend widened Real Madrid's lead at the top of the La Liga table to 10 points, and it's a margin Los Blancos hope to maintain as they face struggling Racing Santander on Saturday.
Madrid's 10-point lead over their rivals at the top of the table may allow them to rest some big-time players with important Champions League matches coming up this month, but you can bet that stars like Cristiano Ronaldo will want to play in every match possible.
Santander is in the relegation zone, barely above Sporting Gijon and Real Zaragoza who are in the last two places. A positive result against Madrid would be a huge boost for Santander in the table as well as in terms of confidence.
Let's look at everything you need to know about this awesome Spanish football matchup.

Most Important Player to Watch: Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo is arguably the best player in the world and is coming off a fantastic performance against Levante when he scored a brilliant hat trick that included an absolute wonder strike.
After some criticism early in the season, especially following the club's loss to Barcelona in the league back in December, Ronaldo has stepped up his game and is firing on all cylinders for Jose Mourinho's club.
Against another inferior squad in Racing Santander, expect Ronaldo to give his club another exhilarating performance.

Key Matchup: Madrid Strikers vs. Racing Santander Center Backs

Not only will Cristiano Ronaldo be a major threat to the Racing Santander defense, striker Karim Benzema, who has really played well for Real Madrid this season, will also be a threat on the attack.
Benzema has been spectacular this season and has given Mourinho a reliable forward while the club has been hit with injuries to several key attacking players.
If Santander cannot protect the middle of the defense, then the Madrid attack led by Benzema will dominate them quite easily, and the match will be over within the first half hour.

What They're Saying
Arsenal world class striker Robin van Persie has been linked with a possible move to Real Madrid, and the Dutch star commented on the report, via Soccernet:
I am happy to hear of the interest of a club as important as Real Madrid," Van Persie is quoted as telling MARCA. "Of course I would be excited to play there."
However, he added: "I do not think Arsenal will be willing to negotiate."

Prediction: Madrid win 4-0
Real Madrid has so much attacking talent and should not have any troubles defeating Racing Santander quite comfortably.
Santander has struggled this season and don't have the caliber of players who can upset Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeu, especially if Los Blancos score first on an early goal.
Madrid are in fine form right now and would have to play a terrible match to drop points on Saturday.
