Sergio Checho Batista's Argentina obtained an important victory in Qatar over a harmless Brazil. Ronaldinho was the most creative Scratch player, while Robinho's contributions to the attack were far below the expectations.

Messi outrun three Brazilian defenders as he associated with Ezequiel Lavezzi and found the opener on injury time with a perfectly placed ball that finds its way through Victor's net in slow motion.

AC Milan Ronaldinho kept Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero constantly busy, oftentimes joining Neymar on the attack. Dani Alves was a constant threat in the right wing but Gabriel Heinze managed to keep him under control. Barcelona winger was always at the right place but his lack of accuracy stopped him from securing the game.

Young Palermo Javier Pastore played a decent game as the main playmaker. Gabriel Heinze and Angel Di Maria lead Argentina advance from the left wing, associating with great success with Pastore and Lio Messi.

Lavezzi played a decisive role strengthening Albiceleste attack and multiplying the offensive possibilities.

Argentina defeated Brazil for the first time in five years, boosting the morale of the players as they prepare for Copa America fight next July.

The first minutes of the game were dominated by Mano Menezes' squad. Thiago Silva and David Luiz played an excellent role nullifying Argentina attack while Dani Alves was always an alternative to break through Batista's packed midfield.

Ronaldinho showed to be in excellent form for Menezes' new project. Argentina found in the partnership Pastore-Messi an excelent weapon to overcome Carioca's aerial superiority, for them pretty much denied the possibility of deep crosses for the Albiceleste.

Javier Mascherano and Ever Banega had trouble keeping up with Canarinha's pace but their constant pressure was a burden too heavy for the Verdeamarelhos to deal with.

On the 18th minute the cross bar saved Sergio Romero from a power shot from close distance from Dani Alves. Ronaldinho warned with a few rather accurate free kicks. Lio Messi power shot against Julio Cesar on the 38th minute. The ball went only milimeters away at over 70 milles per hour.

Not much changed in the second half. Gonzalo Higuain (of poor performance in the first 45 minutes) was replaced by Napoli Ezequiel Lavezzi who made meaningful contributions to the attack. Andres D'Alessandro substituted Javier Pastore but Internacional creative midfielder was unable to contribute much to Batista's scheme.

Menezes sent Douglas, Andre Felipe and Jucilei to replace Ronaldinho, Neymar and Ramires respectively as Brazil top star were overexhausted for the game.

Nobody could stop Messi when he found its way into the box and shot a perfect cross that caught Brazil goalkeeper off guard. The victory fed Albiceleste's fans with hopes for the Copa America and exposed every weakness in Menezes' young squad.
